Who is the product for?

Flarin is for adults who are experiencing troublesome joint pain.

What are the symptoms?

Joint pain and inflammation, potentially accompanied by stiffness and swelling.

How long has the pain been a problem?

A few days or up to 10 days.(If symptoms persist for more than 10 days, or worsen, you should make an appointment with your GP.)

Have you taken any action already?

You may have tried support bandages, hot or cold packs, other painkillers or NSAIDs and not gained the desired relief.

Q. How long can I take Flarin for?

A. If you are over 18 you can take it for up to 10 days unless your doctor tells you otherwise. If aged 12-18 you can take it for up to 3 days unless your doctor tells you otherwise. If symptoms persist or worsen you should consult your doctor.

Q. How many can I take?

A. Adults and children over 12 years can take one or two (200 mg-400 mg) up to three times a day as required. Leaving at least 4 hours between doses and not taking more than 6 capsules (1200 mg) in a 24 hour period.

Q. I am taking ibuprofen. Can I take Flarin as well?

A. You should not take 2 products containing ibuprofen at the same time and should take into account the maximum daily dose 1200 mg of ibuprofen.

Q. Is Flarin suitable for women that are pregnant or breastfeeding?

A. You should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You should not take Flarin in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Q. How should Flarin be stored?

A. Capsules should be kept in the original pack and not stored above 25°C.

Q. Should I eat directly before or after taking Flarin?

A. There is no specific recommendation to take Flarin before, during or after meals.

Q. How should Flarin be taken?

A. Flarin capsules should be swallowed and taken whole with water, they can't be broken or chewed.

Q. Can children take Flarin?

A. Flarin is not suitable for children under 12 years old.

Q. Is Flarin suitable for those following a vegetarian, halal or kosher diet?

A. The capsule is made from animal origin gelatin. The decision as to whether to use the product would need to be discussed with your health care professional.

Q. Is Flarin suitable for diabetics?

A. There is no contraindication to use Flarin in diabetic patients, but if you are unsure you should see your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you have, or have had, diabetes.

Q. Does Flarin contain lactose?

A. Flarin does not contain lactose. It is a dairy-free product.

What is a flare-up?

  • A flare-up is a troublesome episode of pain and inflammation in the joints, often accompanied by swelling and stiffness, affecting what we want to do.
  • A flare-up can occur in any joint in our body.
  • A flare-up normally lasts for a few days and can last for over a week.
  • A flare-up is an inflammatory event. Anti-inflammatory medication should be considered.
  • Joint pain isn’t an inevitable part of ageing. Anyone, young or old, can suffer from a flare-up.
  • Exercise and healthy lifestyle changes can help support and strengthen the joint to aid recovery.
